Cold Depression

Cold depression is a phenomenon of the Piscean-Aquarian cusp period (1991-2012), where we have all the information we want at the click of a button but lack the intuitive capacity to take it all in. What results is a feeling of being “less than,” of being left behind in a big, unfriendly world. Cold depression is a combination of 1) self-hate; and 2) having too much to do.

Yogi Bhajan gave the following kriya for cold depression, using the mantra Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Jio. Mantra is a science of the realignment of neurochemistry using pronunciation patterns that trigger pressure points in the upper palate of the mouth.

Kriya for Cold Depression:

wahegurujio Sit in comfortable position (in a chair, on the floor cross-legged, whatever). Interlace fingers, palms together, index fingers pointing straight up and touching. Hands in front of heart, elbows relaxed at sides.

Stare at the tip of your nose (this may hurt a bit, but it’s ok – just the optic nerve stretching!).

Chant “Wa-hay Guru, Wa-hay Guru, Wa-hay Guru, Wa-hay Jee-Oh”. Be sure to pronounce “Guru” like GOO-DOO, with the “r” sound like a “d” so that the tongue strikes the upper palate.

Continue for 11 minutes. Inhale deeply, hold, and exhale powerfully through the mouth. Repeat inhale, hold and exhale two more times.

Relax.
